A Japanese satsuma rectangular box and cover, signed Ryuun Kozan, 19th Century
painted and gilt to the cover with a gentleman and two ladies walking before a country landscape watching small boys at play with stilts and a hobby horse, the box variously decorated with panels of seated samurai and bijins at leisure and with landscape and floral scenes, raised on four supports, signed in gilt and iron-red to base -- 6¼in. (15.8cm.) wide.
