The pieces pegged, with space for captured pieces, stamped IN STATU QUO PATENT CHESS BOARD and with brass label stamped J.JAQUES & SON MAKERS LONDON, with leather box

Together with an ebony and ivory inlaid travel board and chess set, 1900, the pegged pieces in the 'Staunton' pattern; the king -- 1in. (2.5cm.) high; the pawn --1/2in. (2cm.) high; the board -- 6½in. (16.5cm.) wide; a mahogany and inlaid travel board and bone pegged chess set, the bridge of the box with printed retail label AU PARADIS DES ENFANTS PARIS 156, RUE DE RIVOLI -- 5½in.
