A 'KNIGHTLY' SWORD IN THE STYLE OF CIRCA 1400
19th Century
With broad sharply tapering double-edged blade of flattened-diamond section cut with a mark on the outer-face at the forte, gilt-iron hilt comprising down-turned spatulate quillons, wheel-pommel formed with raised bevelled roundels on each face, each inset with a silver disc, inscribed with the Sacred Monogram and 'SPES' (hope) on respective sides, and leather-bound wooden grip.
