The rectangular box decorated on a rich nashiji ground in gold and silver low-relief takamaki-e and togidashi with a feather whisk and two empty 'brocade' bags for tea caddies, lacquered on the underside of the lid in lustrous gold hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with a seaside pavilion and rock and large trees, details of okibirame and uchikomi and the background nashiji; fitted with two removable utensil trays, one for brushes designed with another tree and grasses, and one holding an inkstone and copper mizuire, the area under the trays, the sides and the base also nashiji
