Cal. 39 17''' Quality 1A three quarter plate gilt-finished jewelled lever movement, screwed gold chatons, blued screws, bimetallic compensation balance with gold poising screws, gold lever and escape wheel, finely engraved balance cock, swan neck regulator with diamond endstone, minute repeating on two polished steel hammers, the gold cuvette with engraved inscription Ihrem lieben Karl von seiner Elisabeth 28. Mai 1907, the white enamel dial with black Breguet numerals, outer railway five minute divisions, gold Louis XV hands, sunk centre and sunk subsidiary seconds, in circular Royal case with engraved initials KB to the front, repeating slide in the band, case, cuvette, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

Accompanied by Uhrenmuseum Glashütte Certificate dated 8 March 2002 and copies from the registers confirming sale of the present watch to Paul Schöneck, Zwickau, on 29 April 1907 for the amount of 1,340 Marks. Furthermore delivered with a later fitted presentation box, original certificate and spare crystal.

The particularity of the present watch is its 17 lignes movement: according to literature, this calibre was used for only 31 watches amongst the some 350 repeaters made by A. Lange & Söhne.
