KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The central portion of the body well painted with four alternating panels of butterflies and birds amidst flowers and rockwork, above four further panels decorated in similar fashion with alternating panels of flowers and rockwork and insects amidst orchids, all beneath stylized ruyi head-form lappets at the shoulder and between single line borders of lotus scroll in iron-red, the neck decorated with two reserves of scholar's objects separated by floral borders, the cover decorated with four floral reserves above an iron-red border of lotus scroll and beneath the finial painted as a flower
