Edo Period (circa 1700)
Of waisted baluster shape with a spreading foot, decorated to each side with a carp swimming up a waterfall, between flowering peony and a shishi on rockwork, all reserved on a ground of scrolling karakusa and peony in underglaze blue, the shoulder and cylindrical neck below the flaring rim painted with shaped flower cartouches and dragons
