A large japanese imari bowl and cover, 19th Century
of lobed cylindrical form, painted in underglaze blue, iron-red and gilt with three shaped cartouches to the body and cover depiciting jardinieres issuing chrysanthemum sprays, each lobed panel variously decorated with geometric and floral key-fret motifs, the pierced and slightly domed finial with a dragon flying amongst scrolling clouds -- 17¾in. (45cm.) high.
