A LARGE TWO-COLOR AMBER CARVING
1780-1880
The irregular piece of amber is well carved in high relief on one side with a hawk or eagle standing on a rock beside a squirrel and below the leaves of a tree that grows on the reverse where a pair of birds is perched in the branches above lingzhi. The leaves of the tree and the rocks are highlighted by the opaque, amber-buff areas.
