A LARGE WHITE-METAL MOUNTED, GILT- AND ENGRAVED BRASS GRANDE SONNERIE TABLE CLOCK

The inverted bell top surmounted by a male figure above an arched moulded cornice centred by a cast foliate clasp applied with the interlaced monogram LL for Liechtenstein, the corners with scrolled capitals above canted angles (originally applied with mounts, now lacking) terminating in scrolled paw feet with cast winged herms (herms to the back legs lacking), the sides with glazed pierced and engraved panels, hinged glazed door to the front, the engraved gilt-brass dial with pierced chapter ring and brass cartouches, IIII and VIII with hinges to conceal the winding holes (VIII lacking), pierced silvered hands, subsidiary ring to the arch for regulation, the base section with foliate cast pierced apron with mirrored glass panels to front and rear, the rear with detachable panel (glass lacking), the barrels and fusee movement with four ring turned pillars, anchor escapement (altered), front-swinging pendulum, grande sonnerie with rack strike mechanism mounted on the front plate striking on two bells above, the movement secured on an engraved brass seatboard and flanked to each side by engraved brass uprights joined by an engraved apron above with regulation arbor, the backplate engraved with a large C-scroll; pendulum, the bob applied with white-metal mounts; incomplete and with some alterations
