A LATE VICTORIAN SILVER CUP AND COVER
MARK OF ELKINGTON, LONDON, 1900
Vase shaped and on a pedestal foot applied with vacant cartouches with animals, the body applied with swags and two coats-of-arms, the handles with bacchante and bacchus mask finials applied beneath with goat's pelts and musical instruments, the cover similarly decorated and with a pineapple finial, marked near handle and on cover

The first arms are those of the Fishmongers' Company

The second arms are those of Beresford quartering others with Poer in prentence as borne by Marcus, 1st Earl of Tyrone (1694-1763) and his wife Catherine, later Baroness la Poer (1701-1769), daughter and heir of James, 3rd Earl of Tyrone (1667-1704), whom he married in 1717.
