A LOCHABER AXE, AND A BILL HEAD
The first probably circa 1700, the second by Woolley, Deakin, Birmingham, early 19th Century
The first with flat blade with crescentic cutting edge, and integral collar at the back and a further applied collar (incomplete) near its base, the plain haft with a backward-curved hook at the top (iron parts rust-patinated, shoe missing); the second with a cutting edge at the back and front and tapering cylindrical socket
The first with 18in. (45.7cm.) head (2)
