A LOUIS XVI STYLE TWO-COLOUR GOLD AND ENAMEL SNUFF-BOX
POSSIBLY SWISS, WITH PRESTIGE MARKS, THE ENAMEL BY PIERRE PASQUIER (FRENCH, 1731-1806)
large oval gold box, the cover inset with an oval enamel miniature on gold depicting a young lady facing left in low-cut white dress with leaf and lace-bordered décolletage, powdered upswept hair dressed in curls and decorated with flowers, wearing a pearl choker, the miniature echoed on the base by an oval reserve depicting an urn on a sablé ground, both within a laurel border, the box all over chased with trailing foliate laurel swags intertwined with reeded scrolls
