A MAGNIFICENT RUBY AND DIAMOND NECKLACE
Designed as a series of cushion-shaped ruby and old mine-cut diamond clusters, each with two-stone diamond collet and circular-cut ruby and diamond palmette intersections, each palmette suspending a ruby and diamond cluster, the large central cluster suspending a pear-shaped ruby drop pendant in an old mine-cut diamond surround, mounted in silver and gold, circa 1810, 39.0 cm., with original red leather fitted case ingraved "Diamant de la Couronne, Louis Seize à la Duchesse d'Angoulème", in a further later red leather fitted case (with extra ruby and diamond link)
