A majolica charger
perhaps Minton, the central raised boss painted in shades of blue with Galatea riding stylised dolphins, attended by mermen and putti within a moulded band of meandering lines reserved with 'jewels', the well enriched in pale pink below a moulded band of flowerheads, the blue ground border painted en grisaille with masks, fawns, nymphs and satyr and putti riding dolphins within a gadrooned rim -- 53cm. diam., circa 1865 (minor crazing)
