拍品专文

The present bust of Caesar shows the legacy of Verschaffelt’s Flemish education through the distinct realism of the facial expression, as well as his passion for Antiquity, The present lot bears very close stylistic comparison to a marble bust of Voltaire in the Louvre (RF. 3064) that Verschaffelt carved in 1760.
