CIRCA 1728-32, CADDY WITH REMNANTS OF GILDER'S MARK
Of hexagonal section, each recessed facet painted with huntsmen in wooded landscapes with distant mountains, the huntsmen in red or green frock-coats, shooting fowl, in pursuit of stags on horseback or at discussion, one scene with a huntsman at discussion with two ladies by a baroque country house before a distant village, the shoulder, edges and footrim richly gilt, the flat cylindrical cover with waisted sides and a gilt band rim, the top with a huntsman and his dog within a circular gilt band (caddy with wear to gilding, cover broken through and restuck with some associated areas of re-touching to gilding, wear to gilt borders, interior with over-painting and fitted with cork)
