A Meissen baluster teapot and cover
Circa 1728, blue crossed swords mark, gilder's 64. to base and cover, Dreher's to footrim
With moulded bird's head spout and scroll handle enriched with gilding and enamelled with indianische Blumen, the body painted with numerous figures on quaysides by boats beneath a cloudy sky within two Böttger-lustre panelled quatrefoil gilt cartouches with purple and iron-red Laub-und Bandelwerk flanked by indianische Blumen beneath a Gitterwerk band and between gilt line rims, the domed cover with a similar continuous harbour scene about a gilt conical finial, gilt band rim (some minute wear to gilding of handle and rim of cover)
