LATE 19TH/20TH CENTURY, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS, INCISED N 1, IMPRESSED 137, PAINTED 1., AFTER THE MODEL BY J.J. KÄNDLER
Modelled as the god of the sea standing in a clam-shell chariot pulled by two hippocampi, attended by the nereid Thetis and two other seanymphs, two tritons, a putto, three dolphins and a seabeast among scrolling waves and shells, on a gilt enriched base moulded with alternating scallop shells and stiff-leaf tips
