A MEISSEN GOLD-GROUND TWO-HANDLED BEAKER AND SAUCER
CIRCA 1735, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS
The beaker with two double-scroll handles with white foliate thumbpieces, reserved with branches of indianische Blumen above a white band border, the interior richly gilt below a border of red panels and flowerheads enriched in gilding, the saucer similarly decorated on both sides, the upper side reserved with a central circular white panel with indianische Blumen edged with interlocking white sgraffito scrolls (saucer broken through into four sections and restuck with small associated areas of re-gilding, beaker with small chip restuck at rim, interior with minute wear)
