A Meissen Kakiemon rectangular teacaddy and a cover
CIRCA 1728-30, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK AND INCISED ../., THE COVER LATER
Painted in the Kakiemon palette, the front and reverse with flowering shrubs issuing from stylised blue rockwork, the sides each with a bird in flight above a small flowering shrub, the flat shoulder with two flowering branches, one extending to disguise a firing fault, the cover with a flowering branch (glazed chip dating from time of manufacture to footrim at one corner, slight flaking to enamels, very slight firing cracks to footrim and shoulder)
