A Meissen nodding pagoda figure
Circa 1745, the head possibly later
Modelled as a grinning Oriental in a purple-lined gilt-edged pale-yellow robe with indianische Blumen, puce trousers and yellow shoes, seated crossed-legged on a large purple gilt flowered cushion with one hand above the other, on a square gilt-edged plinth with canted corners, the circular aperture between his shoulders fitted with a detachable head with a lead counter-balance (chip to right sleeve with minute associated chip to left index finger, crack from aperture down figure's right side)
