A Meissen sugar-box and cover
Circa 1725, the Augsburg decoration very slightly later
Of oval bombé form, the gilt borders decorated in the Seuter workshop, the sides and top of the cover painted in the Auffenwerth workshop, the sides with four Italian Comedy scenes after Watteau within silvered quatrefoil cartouches connected by interlocking strapwork and scrolls, the domed cover with Scaramouche holding a parasol for a lady after Lancret (wear to silvering, very slight areas of wear to gilding)
