the hood with broken swan-neck pediment centred by a brass ball and spire finial, with outset fluted and brass-capped columns, fluted part-chamfered sides to the trunk and plinth, on bracket feet, the arched brass dial with gilt-metal foliate mask spandrels and engraved centre, a brass disc to the arch incised with the figure of Chronos, with further foliate spandrels, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 66in.(168cm.) high
