Date cypher for 1894, gilt printed crowned globe and impressed uppercase marks, various cyphers and faint marks, signed A. Boullemier
Finely painted with a putto holding a sprig of laurel and a rose garland, supporting a shield gilt with a crowned 'MA' monogram, the shaped border with four reserves of putti at various pursuits, the turquoise ground enriched with gilt foliage
9¾in. (24.7cm.) diam.

Joan Jones, Minton, The First Two Hundred Years Of Design and Production, Shrewsbury, 1993, p. 69 for a plate made for the marriage of HRH Prince Alfred, The Duke of Edinburgh, to Marie Alexandrovna, daughter of Alexander II, Emperor of Russia, 23 January 1874. The service comprised fifty dessert plates, twenty-four compotiers, eight fruit and flower baskets, four jardinieres and eighteen menu holders.
