This bracelet is of a very traditional form which is found worked in various different techniques. An example of similar workmanship to the present example, but with considerably smaller stones, is in a private collection (Maroc, les trésors du royaume, exhibition catalogue, Paris, 1999, no.325, p.187), while a pair worked in filigree and dated 1879 is in the Musée des Oudaias, Rabat (Francis Ramirez and Christian Rolot. Bijoux du Maroc, la Beauté des Diables, Courbevoie (Paris), 2002, p. 255). A silver bracelet of the same form but with enamelled decoration is in the Linden Museum, Stuttgart (Rachel Hasson, Later Islamic Jewellery, L.A. Mayer Memorial Institute for Islamic Art, Jerusalem, 1987, no.91, p.70).
