Surmounted by a circular bowl issuing three laurel handles, above a fluted socle with a Vitruvian scroll frieze, supported by a partially fluted central stem, flanked by three uprights joined by flower swags, with three bird heads each holding a laurel handle, on hoof feet, on a shaped stepped circular base, on three square feet

Lot Essay

In the Great Exhibition catalogue, "The two works on this page are productions in bronze, executed by M. Jules Graux, a distinguished bronze manufacturer of Paris. (...) The STAND OF FLOWERS also adorns the same edifice (the Kiosque of the Emperor), and is another of the fine works of M. Jules Graux", p. 106.
