A very similar jug to the present lot, bearing the same verse and date is in the Potteries Museum, Stoke-on-Trent. This example, made for Welsh customers, is inscribed 'Iohn & Ann Edwards, Aberistwyth, October 24th 1835' (Museum Accession No. 2764, Twyford Collection).

Another, undated, named for Catherine Davis/Aged 8 years is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Accession No. 13.27.2).

An earlier jug bearing the same verse, named for Catherine Lewis Aberystwith, Cardiganshire, 1812 was sold in The Sampson and Horne Collection sale, Bonhams London, 28 April 2010, lot 626.
