In the manner of Daniel Marot, each with balloon-shaped back with scroll cresting and pierced vase splat, with scrolled arabesque and strap-work ornament, on cabriole legs with hoof feet joined by undulating and arched H-stretchers (2)

The backs are similar to a chair in the Victoria and Albert Museum and Hampton Court Palace supplied by Richard Roberts chair maker to George I in 1717, described on the receipt as 'India backs'
