A PAIR OF CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL DOUBLE GOURD VASES
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
Each vase is decorated to the bulbous lower body with large peony blossoms growing from leafy branches, all reserved on a ground of wan diaper below a ruyi-head band to the shoulder. Each waisted neck is encircled by a ring collar between two bands of lotus scroll. The pair of strap handles are shaped as ruyi sceptres and are decorated with further floral scrolls.
