A PAIR OF DUTCH DELFT (DE GRIEKSCHE A) DOUBLE-GOURD VASES AND ANOTHER
1678-86, THE PAIR WITH MANGANESE SVE MONOGRAM 4 FOR SAMUEL VAN EENHOORN
The pair painted in blue and manganese, each bulbous part with a similar scene of Orientals in landscapes with stylised rocks, trees, shrubs and fences, the footrims and narrow flared necks with bands of lappets (chipping to rims, both necks with large restored chips, one with small losses along branching cracks extending down upper part, other with restored area near single figure on reverse); the third vase blue and white, the lower part with warriors carrying banners and halberds, one on horseback, the upper part with three Orientals in a landscape below two foliate fronds at the neck (section of neck broken through into pieces and repaired, one piece lacking and some losses filled, footrim with minor chipping and flaking, some minor minute chips to body)
