A pair of Dutch ebony chairs
Second half 17th Century
Each with shaped toprail carved with a biblical scene of, above the pierced back with two rows of moulded baluster spindels between arcaded splats, flanked to either side by foliate carved entrelac uprights surmounted by lions holding a shield, the rectangular carved seat above a conforming rim, on ring-turned baluster legs panelled and waved box-stretchers, on later bun feet, restorations and replacements, with paper label to the rail inscribed Hofleverancier Fa.
