A pair of French faience plates
Circa 1760
The centres painted with scantily draped putti playing with a goat and with a drum and tambourine in wooded landscapes beside buildings and a doorway, within ribbon-tied foliage-wreath circular cartouches, the shaped borders with pendant ochre foliage and entwined green foliage scrolls and trailing blue flower-sprays beneath a blue dot and dash rim (one with three slight rim chips, the other with piece broken from rim and restuck between 8 and 10 o'clock)
