In the Renaissance style, Attributed to Jansen, Circa 1900, Paris
Each as a pair of extended hands, the clenched fist supporting a gadrooned torch, the backplate of shaped outline, surmounted with a cartouche shell above foliage and fruit, with tasselled finial, fitted for electricity

Lot Essay

Jean-Henri Jansen established his business in 1880. He relocated to 9, rue Royale in 1885. He became Fournisseur de la Cour d'Espagne, manufacturing furniture in the old and new styles. Jansen exhibited at the 1883 Amsterdam Exhibition and at the Paris 1889 Exposition Universelle; he was awarded a Silver Medal at both.
