A PAIR OF GEORGE III SILVER ENTREE DISHES, COVERS AND OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE HOT WATER STANDS

Shaped-oblong, the stands on four shell and scroll feet and with reeded foliage handles and detachable liners, the dishes and covers each with gadrooned and foliage borders and with detachable foliage handles, the covers later engraved twice with a coat-of-arms, marked on dishes and covers, the handles and stands unmarked - 10¼in. (26.5cm.) long

The arms are those of Mainwaring quarting others impaling Salusbury for Townshend Mainwaring (b.1807) of Galtfaenan, Rhyl M.P., J.P. and High Sheriff in 1840 and his wife Anna Maria, elder daughter and co-heir of John-Lloyd Salusbury Esq. of Galtfaenan, whom he married in 1837 (2)
