A PAIR OF GILT-METAL-MOUNTED SÈVRES-PATTERN DARK-BLUE-GROUND URN-SHAPED VASES AND COVERS

Each painted with extensive landscapes forming a continuous frieze and painted on the front with merchants scenes, the reverse with buildings in estuaries, within horizontal bands of turquoise and white 'jewels', mounted with finials and flanked by paired handles with pinecone finials and pendent laurel-wreaths, with imitation blue interlaced L marks, the lids with restored breaks, minor losses to the 'jewel' decoration
