A PAIR OF LIMBACH FIGURES EMBLEMATIC OF WINTER
CIRCA 1780-85, BLUE CROSSED MARKS TO BOTH
With a gallant and a lady turned slightly to the right and left, the gallant with a fur hat, a fur-lined fur-lined orange coat, yellow jacket, puce breeches and black boots, his right hand in a fur muff, his left hand raised to his mouth, standing before a tree-stump with a brazier at his feet, his companion wearing an orange bonnet, fur-lined turquoise coat with large sleeves, yellow skirt and silver shoes, with her left hand in a fur muff, her right arm with a warming sleeve, both on shaped circular mound bases enriched in colours (some flaking and wear to enamels, back of her base with shallow chip and minute chip)
