With his Paris apartment located on the rue de la Paix, this keen amateur with a marked preference for the Louis XVI style appears to have been a frequent client of François Linke, purchasing three items of furniture directly from the celebrated ébéniste's showrooms on the nearby place Vendôme and rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine (see lots 42, 51 and 53).

Each with acanthus-cast domed cover with berry finial, above a waisted neck and baluster-shaped body applied with strapwork and a pair of lion-mask and ring handles, the flared foot held by acanthus clasps, on square foot, the porcelain with traces of gilding
