A PAIR OF MEISSEN FOUR-LIGHT CANDELABRA, modelled with figures allegorical of Summer and Autumn after models by J. C. Schönheit, Summer as a girl lute-player adorned with flowers and with a boy seated on a wheatsheaf beside her, Autumn as a girl seated on a goat holding vine, and with a boy playing the pipes beside her, each on a grassy mound before a scroll-moulded column applied with fruit and flowers, terminating in a single nozzle fitted with the scrolling arms, on four scroll feet (chips to applied decoration, one with repairs to one arm, end of lute lacking, one girl with restoration to right foot and lower skirt), blue crossed swords marks, Pressnummern 101 and 148, incised 784 and 785, one with painted number 28, circa 1860
