Each with fluted tapering stem and octagonal shaped base, struck on each foot rim with the mark 'RJB' and with pseudo-hallmarks, the detachable sconces also with the same makers marks

Lot Essay

The marks are recorded in Keith Pinn Paktong, The Chinese alloy in Europe Antique Collectors Club 1999. Curiously they are struck on a pair of candlesticks of differing style and earlier date. See Cat.No.12, plate 47 page 90, and detail on page 162.
