A PAIR OF ORMOLU-MOUNTED AND MEISSEN PORCELAIN TWO-LIGHT CANDELABRA
The porcelain circa 1748, modelled by J.F. Eberlein, the ormolu 19th century
Each with a scrolling foliate and rockwork cast base with branches issuing flower heads and tulip nozzles, one with a satyre holding a pan flute, the other with a female satyre and a child, both leaning against a tree and on a rockwork base

Lot Essay

Johann Friedrich Eberlein (1693/6-1749); after having worked for the Saxon Court in Dresden and in England became in 1735 the principal assistant of J.J. Kändler at Meissen.
