A pair of painted porcelain two-handled campagna Vases
by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St. Petersburg, period of Nicholas I
Tapering cylindrical, on baluster shaped partly fluted socles in gilt and green, on square brass bases, the tapering bodies, with gilt spreading rim, painted with the portraits of a man and a woman, the first after 'Constantin Netscher' (lower left) signed in Cyrillic and dated 'S. Spiridonov 1848' (lower right), the second signed in Cyrillic and dated 'I. Kriukov 1848' (lower left), the reverses with gilt ciselé floral sprays on green ground, with acanthus and berry ormolu mount, the burnished gilt shaped lower section partially moulded with floral and foliate sprays with two tied handles with laurel attachments, the second marked inside rim
