A PAIR OF ROMAN GOLD AND GLASS EARRINGS
CIRCA 2ND-3RD CENTURY A.D.
Each with ear wire hoop threaded with blue glass spool-shaped bead and pendant blue glass biconical bead with column of two gold spheres above, 1 in. (2.5 cm.) long; another pair, each with wire ear hoop with a bevelled rectangular fluted mount threaded with a central faceted green glass bead, with two gold tear-drop pendants below with green glass faceted bead terminals (one with additional blue bead), 7/8 in. (2.2 cm.) long; and a pair of Roman gold, garnet and glass earrings, each hooped ear wire mounted with an iridescent glass inlay in square box setting, hung with a gold wire pendant threaded with a garnet bead, 1 in. (2.5 cm.) long, both 2nd-3rd Century A.D. (6)
