A pair of Satsuma slender tapering vases

with elongated foliate rimmed necks and slightly spreading feet, painted and heavily gilt with birds swimming in a river and perched in the branches of flowering trees, all within borders of swirling geometric bands and coiled dragons amongst cloud scrolls -- 18in. (45.7cm.) high, signed, (one with small section broken from foot rim and restuck).
