Of tapering inverted baluster form, with moulded gilt-edged foliage handles, painted in puce camaïeu with cupid among clouds with a bow and arrow within a gilt rose and flower garland, the reverses with amatory trophies among clouds, the circular spreading feet with garlands of flowers between gilt-line borders (some minor chipping and rubbing to handles, one cartouche with minor rubbing to gilding and with small glaze blemish to reverse of vase)

The present model was recorded in six sizes, five sizes are known of which this is the third size. The model, which was first introduced in 1754 and was still in production in 1791, was probably designed by Jean-Claude Duplessis père.
