A PAIR OF WUCAI 'DRAGON AND PHOENIX' BOWLS
GUANGXU PERIOD (1875-1908)
Each brightly enamelled around the exterior with two scaly dragons in pursuit of the flaming pearl, alternating with descending phoenix, all amidst leafy scrolls and below a band containing the Eight Buddhist Emblems, bajixiang, at the rim, the interior with a central writhing dragon in iron-red, the bases with apocryphal Qianlong seal marks
5¾ in. (14.5 cm.) diam. (2)
