A PALE CELADON JADE CARVING OF A DAOIST IMMORTAL
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The figure is shown seated with hands held together and dressed in long, flowing robes with a shawl around the shoulders incised with brocade patterns. The face with a joyful expression is framed by the hair, pulled into a tall topknot behind a crown. The stone is of an opaque, pale greenish-white tone with milky mottling.
