The cover well carved in low relief in the center with a pair of entwined serpent-like dragons within a square border, surrounded by similar dragon motifs separated by ruyi heads and repeated on the sides, raised on bracket supports at the corners

Compare the white jade rectangular box and cover from the collection of His Majesty the King, Windsor Castle, illustrated in the Catalogue of the International Exhibition of Chinese Art, London, Royal Academy of Arts, 1935-6, pl. 214, no. 2336.
