A PALE YELLOW JADE 'TAOTIE' VASE AND COVER
EARLY 19TH CENTURY
The vase is decorated with three loose-ring lingzhi handles to the neck and shoulder separated by a leaf band above a wide band of taotie masks in low relief amongst c-scrolls above a petal band. The cover is similarly decorated with loose-ring lingzhi handles separated by ruyi-heads and is surmounted by a floral finial. The stone is of a pale yellow tone with a fine russet vein.
