In profile to the left signed Poole 1817 with old makers label to reverse stuck down onto later turned wood frame
The wax - 3 3/8in. (8.7cm.) high
Another similar wax relief of a man in a wig signed Pool, South Lambeth, in a similar later frame, and a third relief in a contemporary oval wood frame, signed, Published 1st January 1817 by T.R.Poole, So.Lambeth, damaged (3)

Lot Essay

T.R.Poole (d.1821) is recorded as exhibiting at the R.A. in 1799 and 1800. He worked in Lambeth Street, Vauxhall, St.James St. and Piccadilly. He was apointed wax modeller to the Prince of Wales. The trade label on the reverse of The Rev William Borrow includes the Prince of Wales appointment details.
